Local family loses home in fire

The Walker's lost their home on March 9 to a fire.
Ron Walker, said, “We just built last spring and on
March 9 lost it all in a fire. One never knows…
everything was fine and I was only gone for three
hours. I left home around 12:30 p.m. to head into town
to do some banking and shopping. Stopped to pick up
the kids after school, and when we arrived back, we
had no home left –it was completely gone.”
“I have a 15 year old daughter Menokime and 16
year old son Kevin; it is difficult loosing everything.
You hear about this sort of thing happening to others
and it sounds bad. Then when it happens to your own
family you realize just how bad it is. We lost our four
cats to the fire. It burnt so fast they didn't have a chance
to get out. By the time I got back there was nothing left
but the foundation. Thankfully I let the dogs out of the
house before I headed into town, or we would have lost
them as well,” said Ron.
The Edson Elks and Royal Purple Children's Fund
helped another local family in need with a donation of
$1,000 to the Walker family who lost their home to
fire. The money will be used to help the children Ken Biron with the Elks (left) and Elaine Weisser with the Royal Purple (right) donate $1,000 to the
