Experience farm-to-table at Open Farm Days

by Lara Felsing

Four farms in Yellowhead County opened
their doors to the public this past weekend to
give visitors a first-hand look at all they have
to offer.
The event was part of Alberta Open Farm
Days, a two-day, province-wide, collaborative
event which gives the public an opportunity to
visit local farms and discover where our food
comes from. Participants got to meet with
farmers, taste and purchase locally-produced
foods, and experience Yellowhead County's
Ag-tourism first-hand.
Although two of the farms have participated
in this event previously, this was the first year
that Yellowhead County, in partnership with
Community Futures West Yellowhead hosted
the community bus tour.
Both the bus tour and self-guided tours gave BILL MITCHELL
farm visitors the opportunity to purchase NEW TRUCK SALES
