On December 7 Parkland Composite High
School held their 12th annual Wildlife Day.
They hold Wildlife Day on the first Thursday of
December every year. This day is voluntary and
is available to students that are interested in
hunting and other outdoor activities.
“The whole idea with wildlife day is to provide
the students who are hunters or outdoors people
with an opportunity to come together and learn
about future endeavors, things they might want to
do, and different skills,” said Ryan Hall.
They had four different presenters at the
program and one of them was Mors Kochanski a
survival and wilderness skills instructor and an Mors Kochanski was talking to students that signed up for Wildlife Day about one of his many

Kochanski is an author to several books such as
Bushcraft: Outdoor Skills and Wilderness
Survival, Tools of Survival and Survival
Training, When You Meet a Black Bear, and
more. “Bushcraft is probably his most known
book, which we actually use as a resource in our
outdoor education class,” said Hall.
“I think in terms of an outdoorsman all of those
pieces of information the instructors gave are
valuable, and I think any opportunity that a
person has to hear Mors Kochanski speak is one
that they should take,” said Hall.
