Evansview school exploring

space in Science class

The grade 6 class has accomplished a lot so far this
year. A large unit in our science curriculum is exploring
space and all of its magnificent parts.
We used paper mache skills, painting talent, and
brochure writing styles to make the ultimate project:
creating our solar system. Making eight planets is no
small job, but the 11 and 12 year old students of Miss
Hargas' class sure made it look easy.
Countless hours were spent making the planets
through blowing up balloons, using flour and water
with strips of newspaper, and then waiting for it to
finally harden so we could finally paint the sphere
shaped objects.
We were all able to work together in groups to also
turn our planets into a tourist attraction.
The class then made tourism brochures explaining
the fantastic qualities every planet had to offer.
