County celebrates World Snow Day at Bear Lake

County Parks and Recreation Department

“We saw about double the number of participants
from last year to this year, and we hope to continue
to see the event grow in the years to come,” said
Jina Materi the Recreation Coordinator with
Yellowhead County. "The warmer weather made it
easier for families with young kids to come out and
spend a few hours in the snow. I think if it had been
a cold day our numbers would have been much
lower."
The family friendly event offered activities for all
ages. There were snowshoes and cross country skis
available to enjoy, along with free refreshments.
Setzer's Sleigh and Wagon Rides were also out
giving people free sleigh rides around the
campsites.
"The favourite activity for the kids was definitely
the sleigh rides, quite a few of the kids went for
