minutes. Kyllo LeMoal finished in second place at 53.55 minutes and Stacey Scobie came
in third just 0.20 seconds behind.
This year, the race had the most half marathon runners in the history of Eddie's Big Run.
The Men's 21km race placed Joff Kehler in first place, flying in with his time of 1:27.07.
Second place went to Chad Hayes for his effort of 1:36.00. Daniel Lukac won third place
for coming in just 4.43 minutes later.
The Women's 21km run held Laura-Jayne Howard in first place with a time of 1:54.57.
Annette Cartwright ran to second place with her time of 1:55.39, just under a minute from
first. Third place went to Christine Kearney for her time of 1:59.37.
The race was started by the Eddies Big Run Committee to promote activity within our
community. To assist, the Town of Edson Community Recreation Director, Jina Materi has
set up the race registration to go through the Town of Edson. The Town of Edson also
donates $4000 every year.
In the past, Eddie's Big Run has donated money, with the assistance of the Rotary Club,
to develop the trails in Edson. 'This year, we've decided to do something different with
where our money is going, since we've been at a standstill for the last two years with trail
development," reports Eddie's Big Run committee member, Leah Holt.
This year, Eddie's Big Run donated $20,000 to the Edson Cycle Association. "The Edson
Cycling Association has been doing a lot out at Willmore Park. They have trails that our
runners can use as well. Not just cyclists," states Holt.
