2700 attend Annual Trade Show

The annual Edson and District Chamber of
Commerce Trade Show was held on April 21 and
April 22 with large companies to home based
businesses showcasing themselves and their
In previous years the Trade Show started on
Friday night and continued Saturday and Sunday.
This year at just two days, Friday and Saturday,
many businesses found it easier to organize and
staff their booths.
Alison Peyton, administrator for the Chamber,
said, "The Trade Show had 26 bring-your-own table
vendors (not-for-profits could bring their own
tables for a reduced rate). 47 of the booths were
10x10 and 24 booths were 20x20.
Over the two days 2,700 people attended the
event this year with lots of things to check out, fun Sandi and Tom Erickson with Driftaway Designs were happy to be attending their first Edson
activities for the kids, and many samples to either Trade Show. Both were born and raised in the Edson area and have just started working with

The show had something for all ages. From big
equipment, cars, and trucks to makeup, food, and
bouncy houses for the kids. Many booths had their
own entries to win giveaways and prizes. And there
are always some great discounts and sales to find
during the Trade Show.
"Next year we are looking at doing something
different in the Memorial Arena, as heating was an
issue this year, but we made the best out of the
situation that we could," said Peyton.
"We were up from last year's attendance and
overall I think it went very well. Most of the
vendors were very happy with the turnout and I
already have some vendors wanting more booths
for 2018," said Peyton.
