Bickerdike Speed Reduction – Council gave second reading to Bylaw 16.16 that would reduce
the speed limit to all of Bickerdike Road to 60 km/hour, down from the current 80 km/hour. Since
receiving first reading, Administration has received signed letters from the area residents The deadline for applications is November 15, 2016.

be voted on at an upcoming council meeting.

Rosevear Ferry Operation 2017 – Council suspended the operation of the Rosevear Ferry

for the 2017 season due to lack of access to proper insurance options, as well as legislated
environmental issues that would affect operations for the upcoming year. The new

Bylaw 13.16 – Council passed Bylaw 13.16 that rezones a section of land located south of
Edson to Country Residential. The surrounding areas are residential based lands, and the
proposed zoning would be a better fit for this particular property and allow for the property owner
to subdivide the property separating the house and the shop. No concerns were brought forward
during the hearing.
Bylaw 02.15 – Council passed Bylaw 2.15 that rezones a property adjacent to Hwy 16 in
Niton Junction from Rural District to Rural Industrial District that – a requirement needed
to expand the businesses currently operating on the property. A Public Hearing was held
on May 12, 2015.
Wildwood Land Acquisition – Council has agreed to purchase land in Wildwood to be
used for future community service operations.
The next Council Meetings are November 8 & 22, 2016. The next Committee of the Whole
Council Meetings are October 31 and November 21, 2016 . All meetings start at 9:30 a.m. in the
Council Chambers.
